Kittens & Cats Looking for New Homes

Kittens are reared in a home environment and exposed to most noisy domestic activities like television, vacuum cleaners and a variety of music.

All the Ikati breeding cats have been tested for Erythrocyte pyruvate kinase (PK) deficiency. This is a  a disorder leading to a chronic anaemia. All kittens from the Ikati Cattery will not be affected by this disorder. Please click on the link for more information on PK Def.  http://www.abyssinianbc.org/PKDef_ursgeiger.htm

Health of kittens should be a priority with any cat breeder, the Pk status of all breeding Somali and Aby cats should be known, and proof [written test reports] should be readily available upon request by the buyer. You have the right to know that your kitten will not be affected. Test reports are readily available from Ikati cattery.

All pet kittens are desexed at twelve weeks of age and leave this home after two vaccinations. It is wonderful to receive emails, letters, Christmas cards and photos from the cats. This is one of the joys of breeding cats – the loving and sometimes humorous correspondence one receives from the cats and the new families.
